At UMCC there are varied Christian Education programs to help us deepen our understanding of God, the Bible and the teachings and practices of Christian faith. Classes for young children, youth and adults are held Sunday mornings, as well as special celebrations during the year. We welcome suggestions concerning current programs, new areas of interest, and possibilities for studies that meet the needs of congregation and community. Sunday School Sunday School classes for grades K – 5 meet in the Fellowship Room at 9:15 a.m. with teachers Ray and Lorie Hillhouse. They become acquainted with Bible stories and learn crafts, create artwork and solve puzzles that relate to their lessons. Youth Breakfast Club Junior and senior high students meet at 9:30 a.m. at the parsonage with Deb Samuel. The youth discuss the Bible and issues relevant to young people today. A hot breakfast nourishes the body and Bible studies nourish the spirit. Confirmation Class Students in 7th-12th grade study “Making Disciples” by Bishop William Willamon and do special projects with Pastor Sundar and Deb Samuel. They visit other churches to learn about ministry and services in other denominations. The students also focus on personal faith journeys. Classes are held Sunday afternoons at the parsonage. Confirmation is in June. Adult Class Adults meet with the Pastor at 9:15 a.m. in the Pastor’s Study. The group discussions include Bible lessons for discipleship and special topics. Disciple Bible Studies These studies are offered Sunday afternoons from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at the parsonage for 5-6 week sessions. The current study, “God is closer than you think,” began September 18th.
